Voting is open for the best Mexican restaurant in The Oregonian’s Readers Choice Awards, which means it’s time to start nominations for another category: the best burger in the Portland area.

There are so many standouts to choose from. We’re partial to the one at Tulip Shop Tavern. Or if you’re willing to wait in line for something you can’t get every day, Proletariat Butchery grinds local beef into patties and chars them on a wood fired grill outside 4-8 p.m. the last Friday of every month.

If smash burgers are your thing, MidCity SmashBurger was called Portland’s best smash burger on a national list last year, and Sure Shot (formerly known as Rough Draft) makes a great one, too.

Tell us all about your favorite and nominate it for the best burger honors in the Readers Choice Awards below. The form will take submissions until 11:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2024. On Wednesday, Oct. 2, we’ll reveal the finalists and you can vote at oregonlive.com/readers-choice.
