As February comes to an end, Brevard’s food scene scored some fresh new places and said farewell to one in Melbourne.

The new spots to try range from places offering fresh coffee to hand-rolled sushi. So, if you need a morning pick-me-up or a late-night snack, put one of these venues on the list.

Grand openings

Indian Harbour Beach welcomed Drifters Surf Restro this month. This intimate 22-seat eatery, located at 1875 South Patrick Drive, showcases an eclectic mix of fresh flavors, with a focus on handmade sushi and coastal-inspired dishes.

Apocalypse Coffee Roasters just opened their second location at 145 Palm Bay Road NE in West Melbourne. It’s so good that Alton Brown from The Food Network gave them a shout out on social media this month.

Under new ownership

Village Bier Garten briefly closed in January and has since reopened under new ownership.

The owners of former King’s Grill, which closed up shop pre-Superbowl, now operate the German-themed restaurant located in the heart of Cocoa Village at 415 Delannoy Ave.

An end for one, a new beginning for another
