Donald Trump is returning to the White House as voters handed him a decisive victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
The race was called early Wednesday morning, with Trump surpassing the 270 Electoral College votes needed for victory. As of Thursday morning, Trump had 295 votes while Harris had 226.
The president-elect scored crucial wins in battleground states such as Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, and Michigan, with Nevada and Arizona also leaning his way, as of Thursday morning. Wins in those two states would give Trump 312 votes.
The loss is a bitter blow for Democrats, who were confident they had the momentum heading into Election Day.
