Most WWE releases can be explained away. R-Truth felt different.

Most of the time, when a wrestler is let go, it can be justified — somewhat — by not being used on television enough, being too often injured or not selling enough merchandise.

R-Truth announcing Sunday that his contract would not be renewed was eye-opening.

He was likely a victim of being an aging veteran at 53 years old, making more money than WWE and its parent company TKO wanted to take on for his role when they have waves of new stars on much cheaper deals to promote from NXT.
