Before 1944 and before the Beth and Rip series, the next Yellowstone spinoff, coming in 2026, is all about Kayce Dutton. Titled Y: Marshals, the new series will star Luke Grimes, reprising his role as Kayce from Yellowstone. But, when the new show actually comes out in 2026, where will you be able to watch it?
It turns out that Y: Marshals is a CBS show, which means it will air on network TV and probably pop up on streaming after episodes have aired. So, unlike 1923, Y: Marshals won’t stream exclusively on Paramount+.
“I think all of our shows right now are both streaming and linear,” CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach told Variety. She also added that the goal is to make shows work “on both platforms.” Reisenbach also said that CBS is “early in the process” of working with creator Taylor Sheridan on distribution. “He’s a very busy guy, but we’ll take what we can get,” she said.

Recently, several big hits for CBS, like Tracker and Watson, have aired on regular network TV on CBS and then shown up on the streaming service, Paramount+. Chances are, the same will be true with Y: Marshals. Then again, the mothership show, Yellowstone, does not stream on Paramount+, and the new episodes previously aired on the Paramount Network.
So if Yellowstone fans are hoping to watch all the spinoffs in one place, that may not actually happen. Currently, 1923 streams on Paramount+ and Yellowstone streams on Peacock.
Y: Marshals will take place after the events of Yellowstone in the present day and will be all about Kayce becoming a lawman. Here’s the official synopsis:
“With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”
This show clearly will be different from Yellowstone and 1923 insofar as it sounds like it won’t be a family drama. Instead, this sounds like an action squad show set in the Yellowstone universe. So, no matter how we end up watching it, Y: Marshals is sure to be a big deal and a 2026 show we can’t miss.
