Here what to know about 10 captivating shows taking place from Western New York to Long Island on July 4.

Wednesday, July 3

Brewerton’s Fireworks on the River

The annual Pearl River fireworks show and concert at the Central avenue field July 4, 2024. The Pearl River Park and Activity Committee organized the show.

Visitors can enjoy a community celebration and kids zone at Riverfront Park, a crafter and vendor fair, a boat parade on the river and food trucks ahead of the night’s firework display.

Where: South shoreline of the Oneida River in Brewerton

Friday, July 4

Irondequoit’s 4th of July Celebration

The town’s two-day affair, which takes place on Thursday, July 3, and Friday, July 4, includes a 10K and 2K fun run, craft fair and market, watermelon eating contest, food trucks, a variety of live music and a parade at 11 a.m. on July 4.

Where: Irondequoit Town Hall, 1280 Titus Ave. in Irondequoit

When the fireworks start: 9:30 p.m.

Walkway Over the Hudson’s July 4th Fireworks Spectacular

You can purchase a $25 ticket for an unobstructed view of the display on the walkway, which opens to ticketholders at 6 p.m., by visiting walkway.org/fireworks.

Where: Walkway Over the Hudson, 61 Parker Ave. in Poughkeepsie

When the fireworks start: Between 9-9:30 p.m.

Jones Beach’s Fireworks Spectacular

This year’s show is free with the $10 price of park admission, offers live music before and after the fireworks and includes costumed characters from Beauty and the Beast and Spiderman along the boardwalk from 4-7 p.m.

Lyndonville’s July 4th Celebration

This Orleans County festival is one of the largest July 4 events in Western New York, according to its sponsor, the Lyndonville Lions Club. Events will be taking place throughout the day — a parade with a military flyover, craft show, vendors and food stands — until the fireworks at 10 p.m.

Town of Union July 4 Extravaganza

Highland Park’s festive gathering in the Town of Union wouldn’t be complete without its annual chicken barbecue, local entertainment and explosive fireworks display.

Where: Highland Park, 801 Hooper Road in Endwell

When the fireworks start: 9:30 p.m.

4th of July in Lake Placid

Be sure to check out the Lake Placid horse show and Star Spangled Ski Jumps, parade down Main Street, Vermont National Guard flyover, live music and fireworks over Mirror Lake up in the Adirondacks region on July 4.

New York State’s Fourth of July Celebration

Claiming to have “the biggest and best (celebration) in upstate New York,” the state capitol’s event will feature live music, including the POP 2000 tour hosted by Chris Kirkpatrick of *SYNC with O-Town, Ryan Cabrera and LFO, bounce houses and food and vendors.

When the fireworks start: 9:15 p.m.

Watkins Glen’s 4th of July Fireworks

Enjoy live music and concessions before fireworks are launched at Clute Park overlooking Seneca Lake. The beach, spray pad, basketball courts, playground and skate park will all be open throughout the day and into the night.

Saturday, July 5

Canandaigua’s Independence Day Fireworks Display

Enjoy a parade from 10-11 a.m. the day before, Friday, July 4, on Main Street from City Hall through the business district and a fireworks display launched from Kershaw Park on the north shore of Canandaigua Lake on Saturday, July 5.
