We are still a couple of months away from training camp, but the betting market for the upcoming NFL season is starting to take shape.

And judging by the odds, the race to be named the league’s Most Valuable Player could be one for the ages.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is technically the betting favorite with +550 odds at BetMGM Sportsbook, but the two-time winner has plenty of company at the top of the board. There are five players — all quarterbacks — with odds between +550 and +850.

Bills’ quarterback and 2025 MVP Josh Allen is the second favorite at +600, just ahead of Chiefs’ signal-caller Patrick Mahomes (+650) and Bengals’ star Joe Burrow (+700).

Mahomes is a two-time winner, while Burrow has yet to snag the award.

Jayden Daniels, the runaway NFL Rookie of the Year in 2025 for the Commanders, is the only other player below 20/1. Daniels is +850 to win MVP in his sophomore campaign.

The first 16 players on the oddsboard at BetMGM are quarterbacks, with some notable prices including Justin Herbert (20/1), Jalen Hurts (20/1), Jordan Love (25/1), Caleb Williams (30/1), and Dak Prescott (40/1).

The first non-QB on the board is Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles. The former Giant is 50/1, giving him the same odds as Kyler Murray and Matthew Stafford.

Betting on the NFL?

Justin Jefferson of the Vikings has the shortest odds of any wide receiver at 100/1. No wideout has ever been named NFL MVP.

The last non-quarterback to be named NFL MVP was Minnesota’s Adrian Peterson in 2012.
