Spanish Fort has posted back-to-back nine win seasons. The team was ranked in the ASWA Top 10 polls all season. However an early exit in the playoffs (second round) has the team determined through the spring.

“From January to the end of May is our offseason. You’re focused a lot on the strength development, but we also focus on our culture development, our leadership, our character, our culture,” Smith said. “We do those things like Navy SEALs training and the team leadership that we pride ourselves on. We are really, really excited about where that’s gone. So we’re not missing a beat this spring. June for us as football coaches is the start of the season. We start our summer development in our summer lifting and that is full throttle and we’re excited where we’re at right now.”

Spanish Fort opens the year against Fairhope on August 21.
