We may be trudging through what seems like an endless March as we approach the fifth (!) and final weekend this month, but streaming platforms and theaters are here to keep things fun and fresh with a plethora of material for your binging pleasure.
This weekend, March 29-30, a new, eat-the-rich A24 movie is in theaters while the first two episodes of a Seth Rogen-led comedy series on AppleTV+ are sure to make you laugh.
In the vein of comedy, we’re sorry true crime fans, but looks like it’s a happier week this time around. Netflix is giving us a hilarious stand-up special from a fan-favorite comedian and a rom-com starring Sofia Carson and Connie Britton to binge, while Disney+ has a sweet new family comedy featuring Eva Longoria.
And there’s more! Here’s a list of the 8 best new movies and shows to watch this weekend and where to stream them.
Death of a Unicorn
A father and daughter, played by Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, find themselves in the middle of a prickly (no pun intended) situation when they accidentally kill a unicorn on their way to the Leopold mansion, owned by a family renowned for their groundbreaking pharmaceuticals.
However, when the Leopolds start studying the unicorn for their own financial benefit, unexpected repercussions arise.
Death of a Unicorn releases in theaters on March 28.
The Studio
Rogen is Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of Continental Studios, in The Studio and the job is not easy. Between balancing demanding colleagues, mounting pressures from higher-ups and the weight of the entire studio’s movie-making success in his hands, Matt has a lot on his plate.
However, he’s not alone. Rogen enlisted what can only be referred to as the Avengers of guest stars, from Dave Franco and Zoë Kravitz to Martin Scorsese, Ice Cube and Adam Scott. And all of those cameos are written with each individual celebrity in mind, Rogen told PEOPLE.
“It was all about the stories of the episodes and kind of who served the various storylines and it was pretty specific for the most part,” the Superbad actor said. “We would write it to our idealized version of who we could get maybe, and we very often got those people, which was shocking.”

The Life List
The rom-com has been back, and Netflix wants in too: queue The Life List. After Alex’s (Carson) mom, Elizabeth (Britton), dies, she leaves her daughter with a list of items for her to accomplish that she wrote at 13 years old.
Feeling the need to fulfill her mom’s last wish, Alex embarks on a journey to do everything on the list, from learning how to drive a car to falling in love.

A Complete Unkown
A number of Oscar-nominated movies are making their way to streaming this month, and this week, it’s A Complete Unknown, Timothée Chalamet’s biopic of the legendary Bob Dylan.
The actor delivered a near-spitting image performance, earning him an Oscar nomination and the adoration of Gen X moms in addition to his already large Gen Z fan following. A Complete Unknown joined fellow Oscar nominee Anora on Hulu on March 27.

Chelsea Handler: The Feeling
Following the success of her Critics Choice Awards hosting gig, Chelsea Handler is riding the tidal wave with a stand-up special that released on March 25 on Netflix.
As this is her third performance for the streaming platform, one might think “there was no more tea to spill,” as Handler herself told PEOPLE. But one would be wrong.
“I stand by my comments about pickleball. I also stand by my stories about Andrew Cuomo, George W. Bush, and Bill Cosby,” she said, referencing some of her more disparaging comments about the men (and her critical stance against pickleball). “I shared lots of tea in this special.”

Reacher season 3 finale
Based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novel series, one of Prime Video’s most successful shows, Reacher, aired its season 3 finale on March 27 — and it was a doozy!
Alan Ritchson stars as an ex-military police officer who works to take down criminals, and he experienced one of his biggest fights ever in the finale, in which the actor performed his own nearly back-breaking stunt, despite his colleagues’ insistence that he not do it.
“I woke up a day and a half later,” he told PEOPLE. “When I came to — I had to tell my kids that I felt great, because they were on set, and I didn’t want them to think that like, ‘Dad died and was going to not be okay.’ ” Eek!

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip
A new take on the iconic children’s novel, Alexander finds himself on a road trip with his family, including his determined mom (Longoria), but he is convinced their vacation has been cursed by an idol he found in their attic.

Holland
They say there’s no rest for the wicked, but that is certainly also true for Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman, who is back on the big screen in Holland, a thriller about a bored Midwestern mom who suspects her husband (Matthew Macfadyen) is cheating on her.
But there appears to be a darker secret at bay — and Holland, Michigan, will rue the day Kidman’s character gets to the bottom of it!
