Sen. John Fetterman doubled down in his support of President Biden after his ABC interview Friday, condemning efforts by his fellow Democrats to shove the octogenarian commander-in-chief out of the race.

“Democrats need to get a spine or grow a set — one or the other. Joe Biden is our guy,” Fetterman said in a terse posting on X.

The terse comment reiterated the Pennsylvania ragamuffin as a ride-or-die for Biden, even as a growing number of elected Democrats moved to abandon him after his disastrous debate against Donald Trump last week.

“I’m unwilling to discard a great president, a decent man and a loving father after 50 years in public service, over a 90 minute debate,” Fetterman added before Biden’s do-or-die with anchor George Stephanopoulos. “Responding with disorder, panic and disloyalty is not meeting this moment.”

When the New York Times called on Biden to drop out of the race, Fetterman responded by posting
“f–k that,” to his nearly 1 million followers.

Fetterman himself had something of an analogous experience to Biden during his Senate race in 2022 when questions about his electability and fitness were raised after he stumbled through his own disastrous debate.

At the time Fetterman was still in recovery from a stroke.

He nevertheless went on to win his race by more than 200,000 votes.
