TEWKSBURY — On Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, the greatly anticipated presidential election will be held across the United States.

Tewksbury residents who are eligible to vote in the upcoming 2024 presidential election may still register to vote now through Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024 at 5 p.m.

Anyone is eligible to register to vote as long as they are a U.S. citizen, a resident of Tewksbury (in order to vote in town and state elections), currently not incarcerated by reason of felony conviction and are or will be 18 years of age or older by election day.

Residents may register at the Town Clerk’s Office, located at 1009 Main St., anytime during regular Town Clerk Office hours.

The town clerk’s office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In person voter registration can also be done at the Elections Division of the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Office, or as part of every transaction at the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

Voter registration forms completed in person are valid as of the day they are signed.

Although you must be 18 years or older to vote on election day, residents may pre-register to vote once they are 16 years old.

To pre-register, visit the Town Clerk’s Office during regular office hours to submit a registration form.

Pre-registrants will then be placed on a list, and will receive confirmation by mail for the receipt of your application. When pre-registered applicants turn 18, their name will automatically be added to the registered voter’s list.

Pre-registration and regular voter registration are also available by mail or online.

To register online, you must have a signature on file with the Registry of Motor Vehicles with either a current Massachusetts driver’s license or state ID card.

Online registrations must be submitted by midnight on Oct. 26, 2024 to be eligible to vote in the 2024 presidential election.

If you do not qualify for online registration, or prefer to register by mail, you can download the mail-in registration form from the town website, www.tewksbury-ma.gov. The form must be completed, signed and delivered to the Town Clerk’s Office with a postmark no later than Oct, 26, 2024 to qualify to vote in the 2024 presidential election.
