Only three wins stand between the New York Liberty and their first WNBA title.
The No. 1 ranked team has been to the Finals five times — in 1997, ’99, ’00, ’02 and ’23 — but have yet to seal the deal.
“We went to the Finals last year, and we didn’t do nothing,” star Breanna Stewart pointed out.
This year, Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Jonquel Jones and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton and the Liberty will do everything they can to right that wrong in their best-of-five WNBA Final matchup with Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride’s No. 2 Minnesota Lynx.
Game one goes down Thursday, Oct. 10 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Three days later, the Liberty and Lynx will meet again for game two on Sunday, Oct. 13.
After that, the squads will head west to Minnesota for a pair of contests at the Target Center on Wednesday, Oct. 16 and Friday, Oct. 18.
Should the series go to five games, the final matchup is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Barclays Center.
And, if you want to be there to root on the two best teams in the WNBA basketball, last-minute tickets are still available for all five hypothetical games.
