It’s time to introduce another category for The Oregonian’s Readers Choice Awards: the best pizza place in the Portland area. (But voting is still open for the best pie of the nonpizza variety here.)
Where do you even start when the subject is Portland’s pizza scene?
Ken’s Artisan Pizza has racked up awards at every turn, including being named the No. 5 pizza in the U.S. by Top 50 Pizza, an Italian organization that compiles a list of the best pizzerias in the world every year.
Newcomer Bauman’s on Oak offers pizza just once a month. But it’s an absolute knockout, according to our dining critic Michael Russell.
On the other end of the timeline, Caro Amico is Portland’s oldest Italian restaurant and was one of the first places in the city to sell pizza.
Recently, Russell ranked the 15 best pizza places in Portland. It was a top 15 because it was too painful to limit it to a top 10 when there are so many incredible options. And he narrowed it down by limiting it to restaurants in Portland’s city limits. That knocked off standouts like the Southeast Asian-inspired pies at Hapa Pizza in Beaverton.
While dining critics, magazines and websites have all had a chance to rank the local pizzas, now it’s your turn. We want you to decide on the best pizza places in the Portland area (including Beaverton and other surrounding cities).
Tell us all about your favorite pizza place and nominate it for our Readers Choice Awards below. The form will take submissions until 11 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2024. We’ll reveal the finalists and open voting at oregonlive.com/readers-choice on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
