As the Giants season falls further into despair, Saquon Barkley continues his career season with his new team.

The former Giants running back helped the Eagles capture a 37-20 win on Sunday night and finished the game with 302 total yards in another impressive performance.

Barkley had 255 yards on the ground alone – a new career high – and scored two rushing touchdowns, marking the second consecutive game he’s had multiple TDs and the fourth time this season he has done so.

His rushing total on Sunday night was also been an Eagles single-game record.

The back brought his season total to 1,392 rushing yards, which is also a new career best. The Giants, who dropped to 2-9 with an ugly 30-7 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday, have rushed for a total of 1,275 yards this season.

Barkley’s explosiveness was on full display with his two touchdown runs that came in the second half of the Eagles’ victory.

His first rushing touchdown came in the third quarter when he busted through a hole, juking past several Ram defenders and then sprinting down the right side of the field 70 yards into the end zone.

His second touchdown of the night came in a similar manner where the back found a hole and burst through with speed, easily evading Rams defenders to run 72 yards into the end zone.

“The guys up front did an excellent job. We went into the half knowing…the run game was going to pop open, so continue to trust in the scheme,” Barkley said after the game. “Trust in those guys and they make me look a lot better.”

Barkley’s season has been starkly different than what has transpired up I-95 with the Giants, who had just 245 yards of total offense on Sunday in a loss to the Buccaneers.

“I got a fresh start,” Barkley said about the fun he’s having this season. “I’m around a great group of guys. The whole organization is amazing from top to bottom and welcomed me in with open arms. I’m having fun and I’m ready to go out there and continue to play at a high level.”
