Kamala Harris’ failure to win the presidential election despite a war chest of $1.5 billion “disqualifies” her from ever running for office again, one Democratic megadonor claimed in a new interview.
The 60-year-old vice president’s failed campaign burned through the reported massive amount in just over 100 days, including millions spent on advertisements and events attended by celebrities.
“I think this disqualifies her forever,” megadonor John Morgan told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo on Monday. “If you can’t run a campaign, you can’t run America.”
“The same thing is going to follow Harris for the rest of her career. She cannot be trusted with the money, and the donors are going to be, like, ‘Where is this money?’” the founder of law firm Morgan & Morgan said.
Morgan’s shocking comments came as he described the missing $1.5 billion as a “Mad Max” styled event as the money may have been stolen “legally.”
“All of a sudden, everybody’s got the key to the candy store – ad buyers, talent, consultants. There’s a hundred days to do it and the money starts pouring in,” the Florida personal injury lawyer said.
Morgan said the money was being donated not for Harris, but for anyone besides now-President-elect Donald Trump.
“It wasn’t pouring in for Harris, it was pouring in against Trump,” he said. “Everybody that was voting and supporting Harris was really voting against Trump and everybody that was for Trump was voting for Trump.”
Morgan also pointed to a particularly pricey expense. Harris’ campaign had spent $900,000 to plaster the vice president’s face on the Las Vegas Sphere — but she ultimately lost Nevada.
Overall, the campaign’s advertising expenses reached a whooping $494 million.
“If you don’t run the ads, the buyer doesn’t get paid,” Morgan added. “The ego, the crazy, the commissions.”
“There’s a lot of whispering, there’s a lot of names of people who got paid, and a lot of people got rich on the back of donors trying to stop Trump,” Morgan said of the “whisperings” he heard while at a White House dinner Friday.
Morgan called the campaign “terrible” despite Harris doing a “good job” in the debate. “I told everybody she should not have been the nominee, she was not gonna win and she didn’t win. She lost badly,” the frustrated donor said.
Morgan called for Harris to “figure out her life” as the lame-duck VP had jetted off to Hawaii, missing the White House bash where President Joe Biden bid farewell to donors.
Biden had only nominated his second in command after he reluctantly dropped out in July as a “f-you” to those pushing him out of office, Morgan claimed.
“He did not want to go, he did not go gently. He nominated her basically,” Morgan said.
Other powerful Democrats also didn’t immediately support Harris as the party’s nominee including former President Barack Obama, and former House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi — who’s viewed as the one behind Biden’s ouster from the ticket.
“Obama did not want her. Obama did not endorse her for five days. Pelosi did not want her. Pelosi told her California delegation ‘there would be a conference, a caucus, there’d be a convention,’” Morgan added.
Morgan ridiculed the Democrats’ game plan that ran on “democracy, democracy, democracy,” before the party dispelled democracy and chose Harris despite no primary votes being cast for her.
He also said Biden’s endorsement of Harris was a “F-you” to Pelosi, Obama and “every representative that was pushing for him out.”
“If he hadn’t gotten out that Sunday, it was going to be an avalanche the next week,” Morgan said. “And I think he was pissed.”
