The Jacksonville Jaguars are back in action today, and they might have their starting quarterback against the Houston Texans.
Trevor Lawrence has missed the Jaguars’ past two games, including the 52-6 shellacking against the Detroit Lions before last week’s bye. But coach Doug Pederson said the QB was on track to play during practice this week. Running back Tank Bigsby also will be back from an ankle injury: He ran for 90 yards the last time the Jaguars (2-9) played the Texans in Week 4.
Houston won that first meeting 24-20 on a last-minute touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud. The Texans (7-5) are two games ahead in the AFC South race, but they’ve lost three of their past four games, including a 32-27 loss last week to the Tennessee Titans. Receiver Nico Collins had 92 yards and his first touchdown since going on injured reserve in October.
