Another day, another influencer causing a stir by wearing a see-through dress to a wedding, and this time it’s none other than WAG royalty, Nadia Bartel.
She left little to the imagination while attending a friend’s wedding over the weekend, sporting a sheer, lacy gown with her undergarments on full display.
The Melbourne socialite and fashion entrepreneur’s dress was a fitted, floor-length dress by her designer friend, Effie Kats.
The dress, known as the Valiya Maxi Dress, retails for $329 and features a strapless scalloped bodice.
The image on the brand’s website indicates that the item doesn’t come with an in-built bra, but to maintain some modesty, Bartel chose to wear a boob tube crop top underneath.
She paired the outfit with black high-waisted underwear, which were visible through the figure-hugging skirt.
The 39-year-old styled her long, balayages hair in curls and opted for a glowing, neutral makeup look with glossy lips.
To keep the focus on her striking dress, she wore minimal jewellery, accessorising only with a silver watch and ring.
Etiquette experts note that wearing white or anything that distracts from the bride is considered “bad form,” as it could be seen as an attempt to upstage the bride.
As a result, Bartel’s revealing outfit faced some criticism online.
Commenters on Facebook called her “pathetically desperate” and labelled her outfit as “attention-seeking,” with one person simply remarking, “Yuck.”
Another added, “Attending someone’s wedding is not about you. It’s about the bride.”
In the photos shared on her Stories, Bartel was pictured with her boyfriend, Peter Dugmore, who looked dapper in a grey suit, white button-up shirt, black tie, and shiny shoes.
The couple went Instagram official in December 2022, sharing a loved-up photo, and in August, Bartel referred to Dugmore as “the one” in a ‘question and answer’ video.
In the candid Q&A session, Bartel admitted to feeling devastated after her divorce from Jimmy Bartel in 2019, after 11 years of marriage.
“I felt like my life had ended, which seems silly to think now,” she shared.
At the time, Bartel wasn’t actively looking for a new relationship, as she was happy with her life and her two kids.
However, her interest was piqued when Dugmore messaged her on Instagram.
“I don’t usually respond to Instagram messages, but for some reason, I did,” she admitted.
She noticed they had mutual friends and that he didn’t post much – something she found attractive.
After exchanging a few messages, she agreed to meet him at The Tan, a popular walking spot in Melbourne, and they have been together ever since.
“I never thought I’d meet this person but there was something about seeing him and hearing his voice, his mannerisms, I just felt an instant spark and energy, which was crazy because I hadn’t felt that at all with anyone since my split,” she said.
“We took it very slowly and now have a great relationship because of it.”
Bartel also touched on the possibility of having children together, saying, “I’m older now so I don’t know when or if that could happen but it’s nice getting to the point where you can feel like that again.”
