Former Stanford star and 2024 WNBA lottery pick Cameron Brink has signed a multi-year deal with Unrivaled, the new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Brink is a member of the Lunar Owl, though she won’t play in the league’s inaugural season, which is set to begin Jan. 17 in Miami.
Brink still is recovering from a torn ACL that prematurely ended her rookie WNBA season this summer.
Despite the injury, Brink still wanted to be part of the league’s debut and has plans to play in the future. The league’s announcement said Brink would play in 2026.
After playing four years at Stanford, during which she led the Cardinal to an NCAA championship in 2021, Brink was drafted No. 2 overall in April by the Los Angeles Sparks.
The 6-foot-4 forward started 15 games for the Sparks before suffering a season-ending ACL tear during a game in June.
She averaged 7.3 points and 5.3 rebounds last season as a rookie.
After Tuesday’s announcement, Unrivaled has two more “wild card” spots that have yet to be officially filled.
The league is expected to announce the final two players – who will be on the Phantom and the Lace – by the end of this year.
Caitlin Clark, along with Brink a part of the WNBA’s vaunted 2024 rookie class, was rumored to be a candidate to join Unrivaled, but the Indiana Fever star last month declined a reported $1 million offer from the startup league.
