Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was photographed in a wheelchair Wednesday after reportedly suffering multiple falls on Capitol Hill.

“Senator McConnell is fine,” a spokesperson for the 82-year-old former Senate Republican leader told The Post.

“The lingering effects of polio in his left leg will not disrupt his regular schedule of work,” the rep added.

McConnell slipped down a small set of stairs as he was leaving the Senate chamber after voting to confirm President Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Scott Turner, according to multiple reports.

The seven-term senator was immediately helped up by two colleagues, Sens. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), and was able to walk away unassisted.

Later Wednesday, McConnell fell a second time during a GOP lunch, according to CNN.

The Kentucky Republican was then placed in the wheelchair as a precautionary measure.

McConnell has suffered several falls and multiple health scares in recent years.

The senator was treated by EMTs in his Senate office for cuts to his face and a sprained wrist this past December after he fell during another GOP lunch at the Capitol.

Prior to that fall, McConnell took a tumble while deplaning from a canceled flight at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport this past July — an incident remained under wraps for about two weeks.

A more serious fall in March of 2023 left McConnell with a concussion and a fractured rib. The senator was briefly hospitalized as a result of the stumble, which took place at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Washington.

The childhood polio survivor has also suffered multiple scary freeze-ups in recent years, which have left him silent and stonefaced during public events.

McConnell, the longest-serving leader of either party in Senate history, stepped down from leadership after the 2024 election. He has not said publicly whether he will seek an eighth term in 2026.
