Senator Bernie Sanders made a stop at the Englert Theatre in Iowa City this morning as part of his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, where he criticized the Trump administration and its billionaire supporters, including Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

Under Trump, our nation is facing a series of crises unprecedented in our modern history,” Sanders said. “And what we do now in the coming days, in the coming weeks, and in the coming months will impact not only our lives, but the lives of our kids, the lives of our grandkids, and in fact, the very well-being of the planet in terms of climate. If there has ever been a time in the modern history of our country to stand up and fight back, now is that time.

Sanders, who placed second in the Iowa caucuses as a Democratic presidential candidate in 2016 and 2020, is touring the country focusing on districts where Republican members of Congress won by slim margins.
