Drag queens and drag kings should dig out their most outrageous outfits, oversized wigs and colorful makeup – because the best of the bunch will be named Mr. and Miss New Hope Celebrates next month.

New Hope Celebrates (NHC), a nonprofit organization that promotes New Hope and Lambertville history and culture, will hold its fifth annual Pride Pageant at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope.

Drag performers will square off in categories including presentation, talent, formal wear, and onstage Q&A. Winners will be featured at 2025 NHC events and receive $1,000 each.

Competitor entries are no longer being accepted.

Spectators ready to swoon, laugh and celebrate New Hope and Lambertville’s diversity can purchase $60 general admission tickets, or $80 VIP tickets. All tickets include access to the pre-show social at Playhouse Deck with a cash bar at 4 p.m. VIP tickets include light hors d’oeuvres and two glasses of wine or beer.

Event proceeds will support NHC’s 2025 annual Pride celebration May 10-18 and the nonprofit Bucks County Playhouse.

Returning for the third year, the “mistress of ceremonies” will be Marti Cummings, a New York City drag artist, television personality and political figure.

“New Hope Celebrates has been creating positive change for the LGBTQIA+ community in a time when we so desperately need to come together to fight against attacks towards the most vulnerable within our communities,” Cummings said in a release. “I know this event not only serves the community, but it also brings much needed joy when we truly need it.”

Spectators can also meet Cummings and past Pride Pageant winners at the pre-show social.

The pageant’s theme this year is “Love Comes In All Colors.” During the presentation portion of the pageant, each competitor will embody a different color of the Pride flag.

“Through this powerful display, the theme will visually express the diversity of love in all forms,” NHC said in a release. “The overarching message is that no matter who you are, love is love, and it belongs to everyone.”
