It’s time for him to start breaking through.
“I’m looking forward to proving myself again,” Gilbert told The Post. “I think no matter what year it is or what the circumstances are, you always have a sense of urgency and a sense to prove yourself every year. But I think there’s maybe a little extra this year.”
Three standout seasons at Tennessee prompted the Astros to draft Gilbert in the first round in 2022.
