Five months after Pete Rose died, questions are once again swirling about whether he’ll ever be elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

News broke Saturday that baseball commissioner Rob Manfred is mulling over Rose’s possible reinstatement after Rose’s family submitted a petition on the excommunicated baseball legend’s behalf.

Manfred’s review came to light a day after President Donald Trump stoked the flames of the heated debate.

The president took to social media over the weekend to voice support for the fallen baseball great, and criticized Major League Baseball for its treatment of Rose, who died last year at age 83.
