Amber Desiree “AD” Smith and her fiancé, Ollie Sutherland, got candid about their “future plans” after revealing their engagement on the Love Is Blind reunion.
The couple opened up about their relationship during the Tuesday, March 11, episode of AD’s “What’s the Reality” podcast. “We do have a wedding to plan,” AD said, teasing, “We have a date.”
While the pair wouldn’t reveal exactly when they’ll be tying the knot, Ollie hinted that the date they chose is “quite important to us.”
“We’ll let people speculate on what that is,” he continued. “But yeah, we’ve got a date in mind. I think it’s achievable.”
The reality stars have double the planning to do as they’ll be holding two ceremonies. “[We’re getting] married here in the States so that, obviously, your family can be there and share the experience,” Ollie explained. “And then some of my people will still come.”
The Love Is Blind: UK alum continued, “For those who can’t, I want a big thing in the U.K. as well, so that those who couldn’t make it to the stateside one can make it to the U.K. one. Plus it gives us an excuse to have two big ceremonies, which I’m looking forward to.”
When AD pointed out that she was excited about choosing two dresses and two pairs of shoes, Ollie joked that she won’t be getting two rings. “I’m just letting you know in advance,” he teased.
Ollie and AD — both of whom credit the Love Is Blind franchise for their reality TV beginnings — surprised fans with their engagement news during the Netflix show’s season 8 reunion on Sunday, March 9. The twosome crossed paths while filming Perfect Match season 3, which will air this summer.
Hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey rolled footage from Ollie’s romantic proposal during the special. As he got down on one knee, Ollie told AD, “You’re my best friend, you’re the love of my life. I’ve never felt as happy as I have since I’ve met you. Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life loving you.”
The pair noted on Wednesday’s podcast that their individual experiences in the Love Is Blind pods helped them connect on a deeper level with each other more quickly.
“We were probably, like, three days into our very early relationship and I feel like we were already having quite profound conversations about, like, ‘Oh, what’s your outlook on raising children in this way?’ Or like, ‘What are your goals for the future?’ … We kind of fell into a natural rhythm of doing that.”
While some details of their love story are being kept under wraps until it plays out on camera, the couple are already looking forward to their future together. On Wednesday’s podcast, Ollie dropped hints about “starting a family at some point” after the pair settle down in Los Angeles.
“It goes without saying, that’s the natural progression of things,” Ollie continued. “We both want kids — I mean, some people don’t — but we both want kids.”
The twosome might be on the same page about becoming parents, but they seem to have different ideas about choosing a home. “[I want] luxury,” AD teased. “That’s why we’re working hard, honey.”
