Following his viral interview from last month, UNC head coach Bill Belichick is putting himself back in the hot seat once again.

During Sunday’s Game 4 between the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder, ABC ran an advertisement for an interview with Belichick that will air on Good Morning America on Friday.

The latest interview will be broadcast less than three weeks after Belichick’s interview with CBS Mornings, which drew headlines for the involvement of his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.

During Belichick’s interview with CBS, Hudson notably interjected when Tony Dokoupil asked a question about how they met. The moment immediately went viral, igniting a wave of scrutiny into the 73-year-old’s relationship.

Most recently, UNC denied a report that Hudson was banned from the school’s football facilities.

“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University,” UNC said in a statement.

This situation is a far cry from the buttoned-up approach Belichick had previously taken to his legendary career. The added attention from his relationship with the 24-year-old Hudson is starting to overshadow his actual job with the Tar Heels. Even former New England Patriots wide receiver and longtime Belichick disciple Julian Edelman called out his former coach because of how this relationship is “becoming a distraction.”

Belichick was seen in attendance at the Miss Maine pageant this past weekend to support Hudson, who finished in third place in the competition.

UNC will open the 2025 season in just a few months on Sept. 1 against TCU, so Belichick will likely use his latest interview to try to quiet the noise as he prepares for his first year coaching college football.
