After losing their second consecutive game in overtime, UConn looks to rebound this weekend against Ball State. The Huskies host the Cardinals on Saturday, September 20 at 3:30 p.m. at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. The game will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.

Last week, UConn running back Cam Edwards led the Huskies’ offense with 116 rushing yards on 23 carries and scored two touchdowns, while quarterback Joe Fagnano completed 28 of 38 passes for 346 yards, a career-high as a Husky, and added two touchdowns, in a 44-41 overtime loss against Delaware at Delaware Stadium in Newark.

Blue Hens kicker Nate Reed kicked a 43-yard field goal as time expired, tying the game at 38 and sending it to overtime.

UConn had the first possession in OT. After a quarterback sack, the Huskies had to settle for a 24-yard field goal by Chris Freeman. The Blue Hens’ Nick Minicucci then ended it with a 13-yard touchdown run.

Now UConn turns its attention to Ball State.  The Cardinals (1-2), who compete in the Mid-American Conference, are coming off their first win of the season, a 34-29 victory against New Hampshire in Muncie, Indiana. The Cardinals suffered lopsided road losses against Purdue and Auburn in their first two games.
