Beers for a good cause?

That’s something to raise a glass to.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, Tall Oaks Farm + Brewery in Farmingdale will host Brewers with a Purpose, a fundraiser to benefit the Fulfill NJ food bank ahead of the holiday season. The event begins at noon, and guests are invited to bring a nonperishable food donation.

Owners Mike and Chelsey Ziolkowski collaborated with other breweries to create six beers that will be featured during the event: an American Wheat Ale with Toms River Brewing; a Fruited Sour Ale with Last Wave Brewing of Point Pleasant Beach and Wild Air Beerworks of Asbury Park; a Triple Hazy India Pale Ale with Bakes Brewing Co. of Belmar; a Japanese Rice Lager with Icarus Brewing Company of Brick; a West Coast India Pale Ale with Kane Brewing Company of Ocean Township; and a Cold India Pale Ale with Pennsylvania-based Manic Minds Brewing Co.

“These are all brewers that had an impact on us, as owners of Bradley (Brew Project) and Tall Oaks,” Mike Ziolkowski said. “These are six that we really celebrate, that have left a mark on us.”

The Ziolkowskis closed their Bradley Beach brewery on Oct. 25. The beer brand will continue to be brewed at the Farmingdale location.

During the fundraiser, beers will be availble in 5-ounce samples, flights of six 5-ounce pours, and 16-ounce full pours. The beers also can be purchased to go, in single cans, four-packs, six packs featuring one can of each collaboration, and a 24-can case featuring four of each.

For $45, attendees will receive a sample of each of the beers, one full pour of their choice and a six-pack including one can of each beer to go. Nineteen-ounce glass mugs, which include a full pour at the event and happy hour pricing when brought to Tall Oaks through March, cost $35; $5 of each mug purchased will be donated to Fulfill NJ.

Brewers with a Purpose also will feature live music, a vendor selling surf apparel, a mobile hat bar, The Dawghouse food truck and Popcorn for the People.
