Denise Richards was awarded a permanent restraining order against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, after days of emotional testimony in court, Us Weekly can report.

On Friday, November 7, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge granted Richards’ request for a court order requiring Phypers, 53, to stay 100 yards away from her, her work and can not contact her in any manner. The restraining order expires on November 7, 2030.

In addition, he was ordered not to possess firearms.

Richards, 54, was granted a temporary restraining order on July 16, days after Phypers filed for divorce, after accusing him of being abusive during their marriage.

During the trial, which started on October 6 and went on for multiple days, Richard and Phypers both took the stand to testify.

Richards described multiple instances where Phypers got physical with her.

Richards recalled an alleged incident in May, following her surgery. She said Phypers was assisting her during her recovery.

She claimed he hit her in a hotel room.

Richards alleged that while using the toilet, “[Phypers] smashed me on the top of my head with the palm of his hand while screaming at me repeatedly, ‘Give me your fucking phone.”

She said, “I was disoriented from the surgery and was fearful he may seriously injure me, especially since I was recovering from a complex surgery, so I gave him my phone.”

The actress said she often sustained injuries from Phypers’ abuse.

Phypers’ cousin, Kathleen McAllister, who also worked for him at his wellness center, claimed she saw him assault Richards in January 2022.

“I saw Aaron hit Denise and immediately she had a really bad black eye,” McAllister testified. “I’m literally in shock now to this day about it.”

Phypers adamantly denied he touched Richards and claimed she was the one who broke his phone during a fight.

In court, Phypers also disputed his cousin’s claim that she saw him hit Richards. He admitted his cousin was present on the day in question but alleged that Richards fell into a pole, which caused her alleged injuries.

Phypers also told the court he did not cause Richards to suffer any concussions.

In her restraining order petition, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum told the court, “Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages.”

Phypers previously told Us, “These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful. Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue.”
