Michelle Obama is not planning on running to be commander-in-chief anytime soon.

In a recent interview with Tracee Ellis Ross, the former first lady said she won’t run for President because she doesn’t think the country is prepared to have a female in the Oval Office.

“As we saw in this past election, sadly, we ain’t ready,” she admitted, referring to how Kamala Harris lost the 2024 presidential election to President Donald Trump.

“That’s why I’m like, don’t even look at me about running because you all are lying,” she remarked. “You’re not ready for a woman. You are not. So don’t waste my time.”

“You know, we got a lot of growing up to do, and there’s still, sadly, a lot of men who do not feel like they can be led by a woman, and we saw it,” the Becoming author added.

While Michelle seems to have no plans to run for president, she has already spent eight years in the White House, as her husband, Barack Obama, served as POTUS from 2009 to 2017.

The mom of two — who shares daughters Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24, with Barack —  reflected on her role as first lady in the interview.

“The first spouse is not elected. I did not try to become him,” she told Ross, 53. “I tried to use the power that I had to support him and to elevate the issues that I cared about.”
