Thanksgiving is almost here, and with grocery prices on the rise, many Americans are considering where to find the cheapest ingredients for the occasion.
The price tag on Thanksgiving can be lofty in general, and an analysis of 2025 turkey prices from Purdue University found that this year’s prices have surged 75% since October 2024, reaching $1.71 per pound by October 2025.
Prices dipped substantially from 2023-2024. However, Purdue noted that they are seeing the continued impacts of highly pathogenic avian influenza on U.S. poultry flocks.

Ingles offers two separate preassembled Thanksgiving meal kits, including a “basic turkey dinner” starting at $59.98 and a “deluxe turkey dinner” starting at $69.98.
Both dinners include a turkey, cornbread stuffing, and gravy. The deluxe dinner includes additions of broccoli cheddar au gratin and mashed sweet potatoes.
