Bobby Valentine reflects on his Mets legacy and Hall of Fame nod: ‘Special a day as I’ve ever had’

The Mets announced last month that Bobby Valentine will be inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame next season.

Valentine, 75, managed the Mets to the 2000 World Series and is still remembered among the colorful characters in franchise history.

He recently spoke to Sports+ about his upcoming Mets Hall of Fame induction.

You managed other places, including Japan, and played for several teams. When you left here in 2002, could you have imagined your legacy would eventually be defined mostly by your tenure as Mets manager?
