This happens too often for it to be an outlier anymore. Whether or not you think the plus-minus statistic is as vital to basketball as it is to hockey, it’s inarguable that it is usually a fair snapshot of the impact a player has on a game.

They looked like they were playing underwater for three quarters and let the woeful Sacramento Kings (playing short-handed) hang around long enough for it to be 72-72. But they pulled away and won a game they were absolutely forbidden to lose 103-87. That’s three wins in a row.
