Just call it, “Mac brings Wrexham AFC to the Big Apple.”

The Welsh soccer club owned by “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Rob Mac and Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds is coming to Yankee Stadium over the summer to face Liverpool FC in a friendly.

It will be one of three stops during the “Wrexham in the USA 2026 Summer Tour,” which includes Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and Subaru Park in Chester, Pa.

Tickets for the matches go on sale on March 12.

“We are all looking forward to returning to the US as part of our pre-season preparations,” Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said in a statement. “We have had terrific support on our last trips to the States, and we can’t wait to see our supporters out there again, while also playing against three quality opponents in matches that will play a key part in us getting ready for the 2026/27 campaign.”

The match in The Bronx will mark the first time Wrexham will visit New York, although they have played exhibition matches in the United States in 2023 and 2024.

The Yankee Stadium match against defending Premier League champions Liverpool comes at a time when the club continues to experience extraordinary growth.

Since Mac and Reynolds took over the club in 2021 for $2.5 million, Wrexham has become one of the most recognizable soccer organizations in the world, thanks to their Hollywood star power, and on the pitch, with the club earning promotion for three consecutive seasons.

Wrexham is sixth in the EFL Championship table and could be looking at a possible promotion to the Premier League if this year goes according to plan.

The club will face Leeds United in Tampa Bay on July 25 and Sunderland AFC in Chester on August 2.

Leeds United and Sunderland AFC will also face one another at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, N.J., on July 30.
