History will be made in Los Angeles to kick off Thanksgiving weekend.

In the NFL’s first Thanksgiving Eve game, the Rams will host the Packers at SoFi Stadium.

The matchup pits teams expected to contend for the Super Bowl against each other, and it is also a battle of wits between Rams coach Sean McVay and his Packers counterpart, Matt LaFleur.

McVay and LaFleur have a long history, including their time in Los Angeles when McVay became the Rams’ head coach and LaFleur was his offensive coordinator.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. PT and will be streamed on Netflix. The Wednesday night matchup will set the tone for a full weekend of games that include the normal Thanksgiving Day games, a Black Friday matchup and the regular Sunday and Monday night games.

In all, five games will be played in the days leading up to the Sunday and Monday slate of games.

The Rams’ full schedule will be released Thursday. The Rams will kick off the season against the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, on Sept. 10.
