Daniel Brown brought some old-school vibes to the PGA Championship on Saturday.

The English golfer was spotted smoking a cigarette after playing the 12th hole during his third round at Aronimink Golf Club, once again leaning into the on-course habit that has become part of his unlikely golf persona.

Brown, who has become something of a cult favorite for his mid-round cigarettes, also stopped to take a selfie with spectator Casey Halpern, who posted the snapshot to X.

“Nothing quite like a mid round moving day dart with Downtown Dan Brown after his 12th hole,” Halpern wrote on the platform. “There may be no bigger legend on the tour. A true man of the people.”

Brown’s habit previously drew plenty of attention at Royal Troon during his breakout Open Championship performance in 2024, when he was seen smoking while holding the lead on Saturday.

At the time, Brown said he had been “sneaking” a cigarette or two during rounds, calling it “just a bit of a bad habit that I’ve got into [as] a coping mechanism.”

The quick puff apparently helped him turn his third round around Saturday.

After playing his first 12 holes at 2-over thanks to a double-bogey on No. 4, Brown closed strong, making birdies on each of his final three holes to shoot an even-par 70.

It wasn’t enough to get him anywhere near contention, though, as he sat at 3-over for the tournament and outside the top 50 as of this writing after making the weekend by one shot.
