Luciano Darderi will have to dance around the court if he has a chance of beating Alexander Zverev at the U.S. Open on Monday.
The 24-year-old Italian should know a thing or two about dancing, given that his girlfriend, Brianna Guagliardo, is a trained ballet dancer and currently teaches at her own academy in Argentina.
It’s unclear whether Guagliardo is supporting Darderi at the U.S. Open. What’s for sure is that she has been in the dance studio lately, which was shown by an Instagram post she made earlier in the week.
The post showed Guagliardo posing at a studio while wearing a two-piece outfit that featured a pale yellow crop top over a brown polka-dot bra top. She was also rocking high-waisted shorts in the same colors.
“all smiles💛🌻🌙🌼,” the post was captioned.
Perhaps this post was taken before Guagliardo came to New York to support Darderi in person, especially because she is typically present at his biggest tournaments.
And Darderi will need all the support he can muster against Zverev, who is the U.S. Open’s top seed because Darderi’s countryman, Jannik Sinner, wasn’t able to participate due to an injury.
Darderi (who is the tournament’s No. 21 seed) has been excellent throughout the tournament, only having lost two total sets through three rounds. Zverev, on the other hand, has faced plenty of adversity in the tournament to this point.
But Monday’s Round of 16 match marks a clean slate for both stars and could be a breakout match for the Italian.
