Sophie Cunningham’s personal life was in the spotlight after photos of the Indiana Fever guard and her rumored boyfriend made the rounds on social media on Friday.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model was all smiles while posing with Frank Adams, the head athletic trainer for the men’s basketball program at Grand Canyon University, on a boat in the Lake of the Ozarks, according to The Sun.

The photos, which were published by the X account “Fever Updates,” appeared to be taken during a celebration for Cunningham’s 30th birthday in Missouri on Sept. 7.

She shared an Instagram post that showed her sporting the same bikini, along with a birthday cake.

Adams joined GCU’s sports medicine staff in 2025.

Before that, he spent six years as an assistant athletic trainer with the Phoenix Suns.

Cunningham played for the Phoenix Mercury from 2019-2024. Both Phoenix teams in the NBA and WNBA are owned by Mat Ishbia.

Cunningham and Adams have yet to publicly address the buzz.

The pair were together earlier this year at Grand Canyon University games, as seen in photos online.

Cunningham — who was a lightning rod for voicing support for barring transgender athletes from girls’ and women’s sports — attended the NASCAR Cup Series Enjoy Illinois 300 at WWT Raceway on Sunday while the WNBA is on a break for the FIBA World Cup.

The U.S. women’s basketball team overcame an early 14-point deficit to defeat France 97-79 in the FIBA World Cup final on Sunday to win a fifth consecutive World Cup.
