ARLINGTON, Texas — After settling the manager’s position, Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns is looking toward the front office.
To that end, the team on Wednesday was moving toward adding Derek Falvey, who previously served as Twins president of baseball operations, for a front office position, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed.
Falvey, 41, and Stearns worked together in Cleveland’s front office beginning over a decade ago.
Last week, team owner Steve Cohen indicated there were plans to add “voices” in the front office who could bring a fresh perspective.
Falvey helped build Twins teams that reached the postseason four times.
He left the organization earlier this year.
On Tuesday, the Mets removed the “interim” tag from manager Andy Green, signing him to a three-year contract.
The Athletic first reported Falvey was close to joining the Mets.
