Mama knows best.
Yet another San Francisco tech exec has taken to the internet with her search for the perfect partner.
Weeks after Corgi exec Brooke LeBlanc sparked controversy for her long list of demands, including a “post-economic” man, another techie is sharing her own list — and inviting her parents to weigh in.
Thirty-year-old tech exec Autumn-Kyoko Cushman took to X with a series of posts about her journey to find the perfect partner, sharing a screenshot of the dating app Hinge with a whopping 577 notifications.
“Made a hinge at age 30 and let my parents pick potential suitors,” Cushman wrote.
In one post, Cushman shared a photo of her and her father appearing to look through her matches together. She also joined in the online pushback against LeBlanc’s lofty demands — even sharing a screenshot of her parents roasting her: “Post economic? Is that a euphemism for a wealthy man?” her dad quipped on X.
For Cushman’s part, she claims she isn’t looking for a partner in a specific tax bracket.
“I don’t care how much money they make but I work a ton so from a lifestyle perspective, would have to appreciate that,” Cushman wrote. “I’m Christian, and I want kids. And I’m clearly quite close with my family.”
Cushman is the co-founder of ShiftOs, an AI powered workplace management platform that was acquired by Trusted Health in August. The techie previously worked at IBM and served in the US Navy as a Copsman.
“I was in a relationship for a very long time which is why I’m single at age 30,” the American University graduate explained. “I’m looking for my forever person! My only must haves are: kind, intelligent, curious, athletic, and funny.”
Some commenters pushed back on her demands: “You work a lot but also want kids? How would that work? I think a lot of men you may be interested in would want to know how you’d balance that,” one user replied.
“Prioritizing family is extremely important and #1 for me. I don’t think that you need to be a stay at home mom to do so, you can still work and be very involved with kids,” Cushman fired back. “Its a matter of making it a point to put them first, shutting off for dinners, weekends, etc.”
Cushman’s friends and colleagues supported her journey in the comments.
“Autumn is somehow both one of the kindest and most driven people I’ve ever met If you’re lucky enough to have her in your corner, you’ve got an advocate for life,” one user wrote.
“She’s gorgeous and sweet don’t be a–holes,” another user said.
Cushman’s list was a lot shorter than LeBlanc’s, who said her her partner must be between 35 and 42 years old, “Healthy masculine,” smart, funny and lighthearted.
LeBlanc’s perfect man must also have a “provider/protector mentality” and be “post economic (still hardworking),” while also being kind, generous and thoughtful.
Her list didn’t end there. Her ideal partner also must live in the same city, have no children, be fit and sober, have no previous marriages or engagements, and work in tech.
