JACKSON, Tenn. — If you’re from West Tennessee, you probably know about the pageants that are hosted in Jackson.

For more than 7 decades, the Hub City has been the host for the Miss Tennessee Volunteer Pageant (after rebranding in 2019).

Jackson also hosts Miss Volunteer America and Miss Teen Volunteer, all of which boost economic impact to the city during summer months.

“One of the biggest economical benefits for hosting it in Jackson is, you are bringing people form all over the state of Tennessee to Jackson. They are eating here they are staying here, they are shopping here,” said Emily Anne Sparks, co-executive director for Miss Tennessee Volunteer Pageant.

Friday, 35 contestants welcomed their families to Jackson for a parent luncheon at the Doubletree, bringing more than 200 visitors from Bristol to Memphis.

“Our sponsorships, we put it out there so that they know where we want them to shop, we want them to eat, we want them to go and do and visit in Jackson,” said Sparks.

The Miss Tennessee Volunteer program mission is centered around scholarships, education, responsibility, volunteerism, and empowerment.

“We empower young women and who they are. And the empowering part is their actions and how they carry themselves, but also how they cheer on each other,” said Sparks.

The organization also works with local charities to give back to the community.

The winner of Miss Tennessee Volunteer 2025 will be crowned Saturday night at the Carl Perkins Civic Center.
