Longtime MSG Network broadcaster Al Trautwig has died, his former teammate Alan Hahn revealed in a post on X.

He was 68.

Trautwig’s broadcast career spanned numerous decades, with metropolitan area sports fans most familiar with him from his work on MSG Network as well as his time on ABC, NBC and USA Network.

National audiences know Trautwig best for his work covering the Olympics, with the broadcaster even making a cameo in the Disney classic “Cool Runnings,” which told the story of the debut of the Jamaican national bobsleigh team.

“He was not only a friend, but a mentor and a teacher. He was, personally, one of my biggest resources of support when I moved into this career,” Hahn wrote in a tribute on X.
