Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham’s wedding is back in the spotlight after Brooklyn issued a scathing statement slamming his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham.
The famous family has been navigating their ongoing feud since the couple tied the knot in 2022.On Monday, January 19, Brooklyn, 26, shared what he claims is his side of the story, writing that Victoria, 51, “hijacked” his first dance with his wife during the couple’s special day.
“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” Brooklyn alleged. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”
Us Weekly reached out to representatives for David and Victoria at the time for comment.

Nicola’s Dress
Brooklyn claimed that Nicola didn’t wear a Victoria Beckham dress at their wedding, which was planned, because his mother “canceled” plans to design the gown shortly before the nuptials.
“My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,” he claimed. Nicola ended up wearing a Valentino design at her wedding.
Back in 2022, Nicola told Variety that she was “going to” wear Victoria’s design, but the brand was not able to complete the dress.
“I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” she said. “She didn’t say ‘you can’t wear it;’ I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it.”
Seating Arrangements
Brooklyn claimed that while wedding planning, Victoria called him “evil” for placing his and Nicola’s grandmothers at their table “because they both didn’t have their husbands.”
“Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours,” he claimed.
His Relatives Weighing In
In his post, Brooklyn shared that his family members told him that Nicola was “not blood” or “family” the night before the pair tied the knot.
Brooklyn and Nicola’s First Dance
“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” Brooklyn claimed in his post. “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule, was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead, my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”
In May 2025, it was reported that Marc Anthony called Victoria on stage during the newlywed’s dance and allegedly called her “the most beautiful woman in the room,” which left Nicola in tears.
“At the reception dinner, as is traditional, there were speeches and then the happy couple took to the floor for their first dance. In fact, they had two dances,” an insider told Us. “After this, Nicola had a dance with her father, Nelson. And at this point, normally the groom would dance with his mom [and] for whatever reason, it didn’t happen then. There was a band, and everyone got up to dance after that.”
According to another source, “no one realized” that Nicola was upset “as she stormed out of the room.”
“She returned later and appeared to be totally fine and the evening carried on to an afterparty with a DJ,” the insider said. “Everyone there was utterly mystified as to why Nicola would get so upset about her husband having one dance with his mom at their wedding.”
Brooklyn and Nicola Renewing Vows
Brooklyn explained that he and Nicola wanted to renew their vows to “create new memories” of their wedding that bring [them] joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”
The Rights to Brooklyn’s Name
“Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children,” Brooklyn claimed via Instagram. “They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.”
