Amazon Prime has recently expanded its catalogue with several episodes of a riveting action series.
First aired in 2017, Seal Team enjoyed a seven-season run. Initially an exclusive title for the Paramount+ streaming platform after transitioning from CBS, it has since been made accessible on other services.
This includes Amazon Prime, which has just incorporated the first five seasons into its collection.
While the complete series isn’t available on Amazon’s streaming service, UK viewers can find the sixth and seventh seasons on NOW.
This makes it more convenient than ever for fans to revisit the highly praised show.
The series centres around an elite group of Navy SEALs who are tasked with planning and executing high-risk missions at a moment’s notice. The intense pressure of these assignments significantly impacts them and their families back home, reports Surrey Live.
Seal Team is the brainchild of writer Benjamin Cavell, known for his work on popular shows such as Justified and Homeland. He also contributed to the TV adaptation of Stephen King’s apocalyptic masterpiece The Stand and is set to adapt King’s novel The Institute for television in the near future.
The show’s writing team boasted former Navy SEALs Mark Semos and Kenny Sheard, contributing to the remarkable fact that 70% of the staff were veterans who drew on their genuine experiences to shape the series’ gripping narratives.
It’s cast is lead by David Boreanaz, who is most recognisable from his previoous roles in hit shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Bones.
The series has garnered a solid 71% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, an impressive feat for a programme exceeding 100 episodes. Despite its untimely conclusion and a scrapped feature film, it continues to enjoy robust support from its fanbase.
A critic reviewing the inaugural season foresaw its accomplishments, commenting: “SEAL Team is built for success and will probably find it. But like the members of the SEAL Team, it’s better on the battlefield than on the home front.”
Captivated viewers have shared their accolades, with one calling the show “riveting and unbelievably entertaining!” and another confessing: “I have been glued to the screen for each and every season. The script is fantastic and the actors have amazing chemistry.”
Another viewer hailed Seal Team as “absolutely the BEST show on TV. From the writers to the producers, directors, stage hands, cameramen, stuntmen and the FANTASTIC actors.”
Further applause came for its real-life parallels, with a fan noting: “This is one of the most authentic shows on television. It is super how the audience is let in on the actual preplanning of the Seal’s next mission.”
One viewer expressed their initial scepticism and subsequent enthusiasm, noting: “What a sleeper of a show. Oh my God, let me tell you, at first it was a slow burn….how wrong could I have been. After three episodes I was hooked, the show really touches on a lot of accurate and actual real live topics. Not just in a battle field way but also what our soldiers go through, their families, and loved ones.”
They continued to praise the series, saying: “The development of the show makes the characters kind of related, you can feel what they going through. The show is not perfect, but real nice for a chance. I recommend it, give it a chance of you have not ready taken a look.”
Seal Team is streaming on Amazon Prime and Paramount+.
