Angelina Jolie chose a romantic, vintage-inspired gown for the 2025 Critics Choice Awards on Friday in Santa Monica, Calif. The actress, who was nominated as Best Actress for her work in Netflix’s “Maria,” wore a creation from Elie Saab‘s spring 2025 collection.
Jolie’s dress was made entirely of intricate lace in a warm cappuccino color. It featured a plunging V-neckline and the bodice was cinched at the waist, flowing into a fitted column silhouette that extends to the floor. She kept her look minimalist with no accessories.

During the press tour of “Maria,” Jolie channeled old Hollywood glamour in classic silhouettes, often favoring black gowns and silky fabrics. For the 2025 Golden Globes in January, she opted for a more sparkling look, wearing a bedazzled long-sleeve dress with a sheer panel and streaks of sequins in black and silver all over. Her dress was from McQueen.

In “Maria,” Jolie plays the late opera icon Maria Callas, who was known as one of the greatest opera singers in history. Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent were notable fans and collaborators of her.
Jolie was previously nominated for a Critics Choice Award in 2015 as Best Director for her film “Unbroken.” She attended the ceremony that year in a silver mermaid Atelier Versace gown.
