Celebrity chef and Food Network star, Anne Burrell, may have suffered cardiac arrest on June 17, according to multiple reports.

Burrell was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn, New York, home on Tuesday morning.

“Upon arrival, officers observed a 55-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive,” the NYPD said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “EMS responded and pronounced the female deceased at the scene.”

Her official cause of death has yet to be released by the medical examiner’s office.

Anne Burrell performed at improv show before death

The evening before she was found, Burrell performed an improv show at The Second City New York in Brooklyn, according to People magazine.

“Everyone said she was so great last night and so happy,” a source told the outlet.

Everyone is “shocked and confused” because the late chef seemed fine when everyone left the show, the source added.

Anne Burrell dies at 55

Burrell is survived by husband, Stuart Claxton, whom she married in 2021, and his son, her mother, and her two siblings.

Fans of the Food Network would recognize her from shows such as “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef,” for which she received an Emmy nomination. She also appeared on “Chef Wanted,” “Chopped,” and other Food Network series.

Burrell was on TV screens as recently as April, making chicken Milanese cutlets topped with escarole salad in one of her many appearances on NBC’s “Today” show. She faced off against other top chefs on the Food Network’s “House of Knives” earlier in the spring.
