Happy (almost) birthday, Barron Trump! The only child of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, will turn 19 in less than a week.
Thursday, March 20, 2025, is Barron Trump’s 19th birthday. That is also the last day of classes before NYU’s spring break begins (if you’re counting Friday, March 21, as part of the very long holiday break).
The youngest child of Donald and Melania Trump experienced a lot in his 18th year: High school graduation from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida; an assassination attempt on his father in summer 2024; college at New York University’s Stern School of Business; life in the public eye; the 2024 presidential election; and Inauguration Day.
With spring break for the NYU freshman coinciding with his birthday, some may wonder whether Barron Trump will return to his home, Donald Trump’s private club, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, or hang out at Trump Tower in Manhattan, New York, which is close to NYU.
His father will be in Palm Beach, Florida, March 14-16, according to the Palm Beach Daily News, a USA TODAY Network newspaper. But it appears Donald Trump will head to his New Jersey golf club after Barron Trump’s birthday.

Below is what we know about Barron Trump, his father’s upcoming travel plans, and information about Mar-a-Lago — Donald Trump’s “Winter White House” or “Southern White House,” and Trump National Golf Club — his “Summer White House” — in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Where is Donald Trump today?
An FAA notice shows Donald Trump will visit his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, for a sixth time from March 14-16, 2025. If you’re keeping track, the president will have returned to his home state of Florida seven times since Inauguration Day on Jan. 20, 2025. He has traveled to Florida for all but one weekend of his second term in the White House, heading either to Palm Beach or his Doral golf resort. He remained in Washington, D.C., the weekend of Feb. 21-23, 2025, to speak at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference.
The Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team issued a notice on March 13, 2025, that there will be temporary flight restrictions for “VIP movement” over Donald Trump’s Bedminster club from March 21-23, 2025, the Palm Beach Daily News reported. While the notice does not specifically mention Trump, it does include the range for temporary flight restrictions, which match those issued for presidential travel. No official notice of temporary flight restrictions has been posted. The notices issued by the FAA Safety Team historically have been early indications of Trump’s travel plans.
Where is Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey? When does Trump visit Bedminster, New Jersey?
Trump National Golf Club is in the township of Bedminster, which as of the 2020 U.S. Census had a population of 8,272 people. Bedminster is about 45 miles west of Donald, Melania and Barron Trump’s home, Trump Tower in Manhattan, and about 216 miles from Washington, D.C.
Bedminster, like Palm Beach, is known as a hub for the wealthy and famous.
During his first term, Trump spent a considerable amount of time at Bedminster, often referred to as his “Summer White House.” It’s used from springtime through September, although Donald Trump has been spotted holding fundraising events on “off-season” times, such as an Oct. 1, 2020, event where several days later he, his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, and (later) a young Barron Trump, tested positive for COVID-19.
Donald Trump resides in a small cottage next to the club’s pool, according to Sports Illustrated, and later expanded to add a second-floor balcony and porch, according to Politico.
His daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner have a separate cottage on-site that is more than 2,000 square feet. The couple got married at the Bedminster club in 2009. There is also a family cemetery on the grounds where his former wife, Ivana Trump, is interred.
In 2017, the first year of his first term as president, Trump did not travel to Bedminster until May.
How tall is Barron Trump? Google now says 6-foot-7-inches, not 6-foot-9. Why?
Throughout his first term, he favored Bedminster over Palm Beach during the summer, when weather is more fair in New Jersey and the social scene is much quieter in Palm Beach. The Mar-a-Lago Club closes after Easter for the off-season and does not reopen until Halloween.
It’s believed that Trump could spend significantly more time at Mar-a-Lago during his second term than he did during his first. He and First Lady Melania Trump made Palm Beach their permanent residence in 2019, and those close to the president have said he prefers the setting of Mar-a-Lago when hosting visiting dignitaries.
Trump usually ramps up his visits to New Jersey come spring, when the weather gets warmer and golf season is in full swing at his Bedminster club. He usually starts to visit in the spring, and it continues through September, although he has visited in other months.
According to the FAA Safety Team notice, he is expected to arrive in New Jersey for the first time since last summer on March 21 and stay through March 23.
Who is Barron Trump? Where is Barron Trump today?
Barron Trump is the sole child of Donald and Melania Trump. He was born in New York on March 20, 2006. Ten years later, Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election against Democratic challenger Hilary Clinton (interestingly, Hilary and Bill Clinton were wedding guests at the Donald Trump-Melania Knauss wedding in 2005).
During his first term as president, Donald and Melania Trump did not reside together at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, D.C. — at least for the first few months of his presidency. In 2017, the third Mrs. Donald Trump spent the first five months of his administration living apart from the president — she and Barron Trump remained behind in New York so he could finish school. At the time, Barron Trump was attending Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in Manhattan.
After that, Barron Trump then attended school closer to Washington, D.C., at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, about 14 miles from the White House. He and Melania Trump officially moved in that summer when Barron Trump was 11 years old.
After his father lost the 2020 presidential election to President Joe Biden, Donald and Melania Trump went back to his private club, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida. Mar-a-Lago earned the nickname the “Southern White House” and the “Winter White House” because of the amount of time Donald Trump spent there.
Before Barron Trump turned 18, he was largely kept out of the spotlight because of Melania Trump’s protective nature. He has shown interest in his father’s politics, particularly during the 2024 presidential election, though he did not make many public appearances.
So far, the only public appearance by Barron Trump has been the Inauguration Day events on the weekend leading up to Jan. 20, 2025.
