Bethenny Frankel has entered the Amanda Batula and West Wilson discourse.
The Real Housewives of New York City alum, 55, shared her “blind take” on the Summer House costars’ controversial romance in a TikTok video on Tuesday, March 31.
“I’m at dinner, and everyone is on my jock about these people from Summer House,” Bethenny began in the video, admitting that she doesn’t know of West, 31, but met Amanda, 34, “several times” through her now-estranged husband, Kyle Cooke.
“I don’t know anything about the situation,” Bethenny added before offering up her opinion on the matter.
“A, was this on a reality show with producers and a network that stands to profit in the same way as Scandoval?” she said, referring to Tom Sandoval and Rachel “Raquel” Leviss’ 2023 cheating scandal that rocked the cast of Vanderpump Rules and led to Tom’s split from his girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Madix.
“OK, we move on,” Bethenny continued. “B, did the people that were ‘friends’ meet on the show? Because if that’s the case, we have to shave several points off friendship, because the network wants you to think they were all friends, but they’re not really friends, and they won’t be friends after.”
Bethenny also pointed out that Summer House includes drinking and drama at the “forefront” of the show.
“If these are all in fact true, and this couple that is now a couple, they’re grown ass consenting adults,” she said. “Whoever it is that you’re gonna go drag, bully and cane like you did to the last drunken-fueled show that made tens of millions of dollars and soaring ratings from your rabid obsession with people you never met who are just young kids f***ing and loving, then we move on.”
The SkinnyGirl founder concluded, “Whoever these two people are together now, go with God. I’ll be happy to sell them an appropriate wedding dress. You’re welcome.”
In the caption, Bethenny added, “Fight me in the comments.”
Amanda and West sparked speculation earlier this year that they were dating shortly after Amanda and Kyle, 43, announced their separation in January.
The rumors reportedly caused a rift between Amanda and Ciara Miller, her Summer House costar and best friend, who dated West in 2023.
Amanda and West confirmed their budding relationship in a joint statement on Tuesday, March 31.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything,” the pair wrote. “Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
The statement continued, “We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Amanda and West noted that they “wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling” before going public.
“We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless. We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this,” the statement concluded.
Ciara, 30, has not publicly addressed the relationship, but a source exclusively told Us Weekly on Tuesday that she felt “betrayed” and “heartbroken.”
