BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) – A bi-state Trump Train event rolled into Davenport and Bettendorf Saturday evening.
The Trump Train event was to mark Flag Day and celebrate President Donald J. Trump’s 79th birthday, according to event organizers. Participants decorated their vehicles in red, white, and blue, flags, banners and Trump gear.
“The festive caravan will be led by grassroots leader Jaye DeBates, the founder of the first grassroots team in the nation supporting Trump,” event organizers said. “DeBates will be departing from Central Illinois and traveling westward, crossing the historic Mississippi River into Iowa.”
The Trump Train arrived between 5 and 5:30 p.m., event organizers said. They met at NorthPark Mall at the old Sears parking lot for lineup. They then headed up on 53rd Street and made their way over to the Treehouse, a little before 7 p.m.
The Treehouse location holds significance as President Trump visited there in September of 2023, ahead of the Iowa Caucus, event organizers said. His signature remains permanently displayed there.
At the Treehouse, a MAGA meet up was hosted by Stacey Insisiengmay of Team Trump Eastern Iowa, Annie Parchert and the Illinois Freedom Alliance, and members of the Rock Island GOP.
Candidates running for office are expected to attend, event organizers said.
The event is to honor the flag, our freedoms, and our 47th President of the United States,” event organizers said.
Brad Sherman who is running for Iowa Governor was also at the event.
Meanwhile, across the country, and in the Quad Cities “No Kings” protests were held to protest President Donald Trump before a Washington military parade marking the Army’s 250th anniversary that coincides with the president’s birthday.
