North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick was on hand to watch girlfriend Jordon Hudson compete in the Miss Maine pageant, according to the New York Post‘s Jeanette Settembre. Hudson ended up finishing in third place in the competition:

“Belichick was spotted in the front row with Hudson’s Navy veteran security guard, Chad, as the competition got underway Saturday night,” Settembre reported.

Shelby Powell of Bangor was announced as the winner of Miss Maine 2025 at the end of Sunday’s session. Hudson was the runner-up in the 2024 pageant but could not improve upon the result this year.

Belichick and Hudson’s relationship continues to be a subject of fascination for sports fans. Meadowlark Media’s Pablo Torre provided another twist when he explored the story on his Pablo Torre Finds Out show.

Among other things, Torre reported that North Carolina had banned Hudson from football facilities and within Belichick’s family there is “deep worry for how detrimental Jordon can be for not just North Carolina but Bill’s legacy, reputation.”

For its part, UNC denied limiting Hudson’s access.

“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities,” the school said. “Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”

Torre stood by his reporting, saying it “came from the highest levels of the football program.”

All of the drama is leading even former New England Patriots players such as Julian Edelman to say Belichick and Hudson’s relationship is far too big a distraction.

For North Carolina, there may not be a respite in the off-field intrigue with the Tar Heels’ season-opener against TCU (Sept. 1) still months away.
