Bill Belichick’s new UNC staff isn’t wasting any time.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Jordon Hudson — the 24-year-old girlfriend of the newly announced Tar Heels football coach — posted a video of the program’s first-year general manager, Michael Lombardi, in action.

“That’s my General Manager,” Hudson captioned the clip, which featured Lombardi in UNC apparel while on the phone in what appeared to be an office.

A former NFL executive, Lombardi confirmed last Wednesday he would be joining Belichick in Chapel Hill, leaving his job as a VSiN host to assume the GM post.

“I’m excited to join Coach Belichick at North Carolina,” he told VSiN. “Although leaving my VSIN family will be hard, I’m excited to return to helping build a winning program. I’m forever thankful for all the great people at VSIN, especially Bill Adee and the Musburger family.”

Lombardi and Belichick worked together in Cleveland during the 1990s.

Lombardi, 65, began his career with the Browns as a scout in 1987 and was elevated to pro personnel director in 1989. He was anointed director of player personnel in 1993.

Belichick, 72, was hired as the Browns’ head coach in 1991 and held the position for five seasons.

Lombardi later joined Belichick’s team in New England, serving as an assistant to the coaching staff from 2014-16.

Belichick was formally introduced as UNC’s new football coach last Thursday in Chapel Hill, where Hudson, a former college cheerleader, joined him.

“I’ve always wanted to coach in college football. It just never really worked out. Had some good years in the NFL, so that was OK, but this was really a dream come true. I grew up in college football with my dad, who was in it for 50 years. All I knew was college football. It’s great to be back in Carolina, an environment I grew up in,” said Belichick, whose father Steve was a UNC assistant from 1953-55.

The role at UNC marks Belichick’s official return to coaching after sitting out the 2024 season.

He parted ways with the Patriots in January after 24 seasons. Although Belichick interviewed twice for the Falcons’ coaching job, the role went to Raheem Morris.

Belichick has enjoyed his time away from the field with Hudson.

The couple, whose romance was revealed over the summer, relaxed in Nantucket this offseason.

A source told People earlier this week the pair has a “solid” relationship as Belichick embraces his new era in the college ranks.

“Bill will put his all into the new coaching job which he is very excited about,” the insider said.

“But Jordon is also a busy woman with a lot going on. So I don’t see this doing anything but enhancing their solid relationship.”
